Common Sense Living
Chi Rho Community exists in response to the uncommon love of Jesus. It's simple to say, and can be challenging to live out on an everyday basis.
We are a "new form" kind of fellowship. We are not trying to be another church in the traditional sense. We want to bring what the Acts Church did for their various cities--a model of common sense living in the light of the uncommon love of Jesus--into our time.
As our calendar suggests, we make it a point to come alongside the various bodies already serving in our region to preach, teach, provide music and join in common labor to serve the community and God's Kingdom. We also gather to fellowship, worship and dig into the Word and we would love for you to join in whenever you like. That is, however, where a lot of the more familiar side of Chi Rho Community ends, and where the heart of our vision to see city-wide restoration begins.
God is moving, and when moving through us, it's always about reconciliation.
Reconciliation is at the core of all New Testament ministry. It is, in fact, how Paul presented living like Jesus. Making an appeal to people through the Body, in partnership with Holy Spirit, to see the world come to know Jesus through radical love.
Picture a partnership between the worldview of Isaiah 61 with its laser focus on justice, healing and righteousness and the precedent set in Ephesians 4 for Jesus-followers to move in their various roles and gifts of the Spirit to see the whole of the Body equipped to walk like Jesus, you would have an idea of our vision for Chi Rho.
Our coming together as one body, as living sacrifices, was always supposed to be about making all see, who God is actually, and who He desires to be through all of us, practically. Often times, loving in spite of discomfort is the most efficacious way of sharing the Gospel.
Uncommon love expressed in ways that just make sense as, together, we live in the grace and face of Jesus. We welcome you to join us.
ABOUT US
Ben Wamberg - Senior Pastor
is teaching and leading worship. Ben is ordained through Destiny Ministries International (DMI).
Thor's nerdy cousin, Ben is just as likely to be found gaming as playing music. Ben is hungry to see the earth transform to mirror heaven.
Brittany Wamberg - Apostolic Pastor
is a visionary leader. As our main Apostle at Chi Rho, she is integral to the vision and goals of this house. Brittany is ordained through DMI; she teaches and coaches.
She's a rock-clmbing, world traveling adventurer. Brittany is deeply passionate about seeing people walk in the fullness of their Christ-given identities.
Steve Wamberg - Executive Pastor
Steve teaches, leads worship and counsels.
Having years of interdenominational ministry experience, Steve is invaluable in his ability to minister with grace.
Steve is well versed in the lore of Monty Python and the Lexicons of ancient Greek and Hebrew.

God's real. He's good. He's not angry.

The Bible is true and has context.
- We may do more damage than good presenting the truth void of the Spirit. (James 3:1; Mt. 18:6; Luke 17:2; Mark 9:42)
- Jesus only said/did what Abba Father was doing/saying; we should aim to, too. (John 5:19; 12:49)
- Jesus is the only way to the Father. (John 14:6)
- Going that way means life looks a lot like Jesus' looked. Same work, same breakthrough - then we're supposed to top it. (John 14:12, 15)
- Therefore, if you can't find your idea about God or "His will" in the life of Jesus, you have serious reason to question that conclusion.

John 14, Continued:
We got a (potentially) sweeter deal than if Jesus had stayed.
- Potentially because he left us with the authority and the tools to accomplish what he started in making the earth look like heaven but we choose whether or not we use them. (Mat 6:9-13; 2 Cor 5:11-21; John 20:23)
- God didn't abandon us to this work; He's working with us constantly. (Heb. 13:5; De 31:6, 8; Jn 10:28; Col 3:16)

God speaks and His kids hear Him. (John 10:27)
- It is true that sometimes we choose not to listen or perhaps hear incorrectly.
- Grace is not a license to sin. Grace it what equips us to walk like Jesus as we go. (Rom 6:1, 2, 15; Eph 2:8-10)
Go. Make disciples. Do the work.
- You are equipped as a believer with the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead. (Rom 8:11)

You have been commissioned, like Jesus, to go live out Isiah 61. (John 20:21; Mt. 28:16-20; James 2:8)
- This is inclusive of direct ministry to needs, naturally and supernaturally, as well as lending the vision of the Father in service to humanity where the option arises. (James 2:14-17; 5:13-20; Gal 5:13)
- You weren't made for you but you are totally awesome.
- You are immeasurably valuable and worthy of love.
- You have choice, which is why you are responsible for your behavior.
- You are not your behavior.

God loves you, your neighbor, those you wish weren't your neighbor, etc. (John 3:16, 17)
- So we need to as well. We love what He loves, it's only logical, as what God believes is true.

God doesn't change, so our work remains the same. (James 1:17; 1 John 1:5; Mal 3:6)
- So, if you can't find it in the life of Jesus, you have reason to question your conclusion/behavior/expectation. (Heb 1:3; John 14:23)
So where do we go from there?
We do life living like Jesus. We love people well, no matter whatsoever whether they love us back. We heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons and cleanse lepers. We take care of widows and orphans, clothes to the naked, food to the hungry, homes for the homeless and community for the trapped. That is a daunting task without Holy Spirit. With Him? It's exciting beyond measure.
In the immediate, we will gather and grow and learn as a community. We'll go (insert reference) on each other, iron sharpening iron. We will honor one God and each other and serve our community. We'll love those around us and see chains shattered because that's what love births: freedom.
As Chi Rho Community grows, we will be posturing ourselves to become what we call, a REC Center. That is, a Resourcing, Equipping and Commissioning Center. We aim to set people up for success in every facet of life; certainly the spiritual, but not only.
God put a vision in Brittany’s heart when she was 18 to see these REC Centers in the middle of cities all over the world. These centers would be places where people could come to find out who they are, restoring their identity. Then going back out with restored identities, they begin to restore their city.
REC Centers will be places where people encounter the heart of the Father and be accepted; places people would belong, often well before they believed “correctly.” REC Centers would be places of refuge, yes, but also places of challenge. After all, part of truly equipping people is trusting them to walk with Holy Spirit without you. So people won't just be equipped in isolation, they must also be launched back into their spheres of influence. REC Centers would be focused on helping people find their Christ-given identities and living out kingdom principles as a church, but also set up to give people opportunities to find different skills and passions – and then connect them to people in the community who can help them wholeheartedly pursue those passions.
Our goal is for Chi Rho to eventually transform into a Resourcing and Equipping Center. A REC Center will be, and Chi Rho Community is now, a place where, without watering down the Gospel, people can feel safe and welcome. A place where people can focus blessing – whether educational, financial, physical, or spiritual – onto the community. It would be a place to empower people, whether or not they are immediately excited about Jesus, with programs for assistance with every part of life.
